JANUARY 15 – Nellie Baker Johnson, 89 of Farmville died Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at the Woodland. She was the daughter of the late James T. Baker and Elizabeth Foster Baker.

She is survived by her husband, William E. Johnson; daughter, Peggy Michener and husband, Curtis; son, William Ronald Johnson; sister, Virginia B. Welch; four grandchildren, Lucy J. Elder and husband, Ricky, Linwood F. Johnson Jr. and wife, Tara, Bonnie J. Primm and husband, Matt and Robert E. Johnson; six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Linwood Frank Johnson, sisters, Ann B. Beasley and Elizabeth B. Phelps and a brother, William R. Baker.

Funeral service will be Saturday, January 17 at 11 a.m. at Farmville Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Trinity Memorial Gardens, Rice.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
