MARCH 5 – Myrtle C. Dunevant went to her Heavenly home on Sunday, March 1, 2009. Born in Appomattox County, Mrs. Dunevant was the daughter of Duke A. and Mamie B. Chidester and one of 10 siblings. She is the widow of the late Vernard J. Dunevant.

Mrs. Dunevant lived in Buckingham and later in Goochland County. She retired after 24 years of dedicated service to the Virginia Correctional Center for Women at Goochland. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church, Goochland.

She leaves to honor and cherish her memory, a daughter, Betty Zumbro and Aubrey of Dillwyn; two sons, Fred Dunevant of Goochland and Cheston Dunevant of Blackstone; two grandsons, Dwayne and Michael and their families, as well as numerous other loved ones.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Enon Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
