RICHMOND, July 15 – Martha Taylor Putney, 89, of Richmond, died Wednesday, July 14, 2004.

She was born in Farmvllle on July 24, 1914 to James Lee Putney and Blanche Gilliam Putney. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Lloyd Staton Noel and John Walker Biscoe, Sr.

She graduated from Long-wood College and taught school in North Carolina and Virginia before retiring from teaching at Varina High School.

She is survived by her children, Blanche Gilliam Noel Perry and her husband, H. Boyd Perry, Lloyd Staton Noel, Jr. and his wife, Dale Noel; grandchildren, Martha Katherine Perry and her husband, Robert R. Probst, Laura Noel Perry and her husband, Barry Bram, Carlyle Station Perry and his wife, Anna Perry, Lloyd Staton Noel, III and his wife, Deborah Noel and Tracy Allen Noel and his wife, Jody Noel; five great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday evening at Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 Parham Road, with visitation to follow. Interment will be held 11 a.m. Saturday in Westvlew Cemetery, Farmvllle.
