BUCKINGHAM, May 19 – Martha Fitzgerald Stanley, 72, of Buckingham, died Saturday, May 16, 2009. She was born September 27, 1936 in Nelson County, the daughter of the late Carrington Fitzgerald and Nellie Ripley Fitzgerald.

She is survived by her husband, James Stanley; two sisters, Mattie Fitzgerald and Elsie Mae Caudill; and a brother, Jesse Fitzgerald.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at Antioch Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Buckingham County Rescue Squad.
