CUMBERLAND, May 5 – Deaconess Lucy Criss Trent, 85, of Cumberland, departed this life on Friday, May 1, 2009 in Cumberland.

She is survived by three children, Richard C. Trent of Cumberland, Nora L. Trent Jones of Maryland, and Loretha T. Thomas (Jeta) of Cumberland; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; brother, Bernard W. Criss Jr. (Viola) of Richmond; two sisters, Nora Sconiers of New Jersey and Nellie Criss of Richmond; a brother-in-law, Floyd Trent of Cumberland; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and a devoted friend, Marie Booker.

Her remains rest at Marian Gray Thomas Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church, Cumberland, with the Rev. Timothy L. Woodson, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
