ARVONIA, July 30 – Kenneth LeGrand “Bree” Jones, 85, of Arvonia, passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2009. He was pre-ceded in death by his wife, Betty Scott Jones. He was born May 3, 1924, in New Canton.

He is survived by his son, Jack Jones of Midlothian; daughter, Elizabeth Jones of Charlottesville; sister, Ethelyn Maxwell of Louisville, KY; brother, Laurie Jones of Houston, TX; four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

Mr. Jones was a long-time vice president and branch manager for Bank of America at its Dillwyn location. He worked for 44 years in the Dillwyn office serving the people of his community whom he loved. Mr. Jones was a life-long member and elder at Trinity Presbyterian Church in New Canton as well as army veteran of World War II.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in Trinity Presbyterian Church of New Canton with interment in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m., Saturday, at the Dunkum Funeral Home.

Donations may be made to the cemetery fund of Trinity Presbyterian Church.
