MEHERRIN, Nov. 18 – John Thomas Pyle Jr., 72, of Meherrin, died Sunday, November 16, 2008 peacefully at his home with his family at his bedside. He was the son of the late John and Octavia Pyle.

John was a retired member of the Iron Workers Local 28, Richmond.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Pyle, and four children, Mickey Lee Hilbourn, Frankie Jackson, Jackie P. Moore, and Vickie P. Stouffer; five grand-sons; one great-granddaughter; three brothers, Ernie Pyle Sr., Charles Pyle, and Ronnie Pyle; a sister, Sandra Pyle; four nieces and three nephews.

A celebration of John's life will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Browning Duffer Funeral Home, with interment in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery, Meherrin.

The family will receive family and friends today (Tuesday) from 6 to 8 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home.
