SEPTEMBER 15 – Jane Garnett Moore died Sunday, October 13, 2009. She was born September 14, 1919 at the “Garnett Home-Circa 1824” in Curdsville, located in Buckingham County.

She was the last surviving member of the four children of Annie Spencer Garnett and Thomas Sidney Garnett. She was predeceased in death by her husband of 43 years, Daniel Elwyn Moore Sr. (Mitty).

Mrs. Moore attended Mary Washington College. She was a devoted lifetime member of Smyrna United Methodist Church where she had served in many capacities. She was a member of the Buckingham County Woman's Club for many years.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Daniel Elwyn Moore Jr. and Barbara Griffith Moore; daughter and son-in-law, Carol Anne Moore Lea and Jonathan Mark Lea; and granddaughter, Caroline Cuyler Lea, all of Midlothian.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday (today) at Dunkum Funeral Home, Dillwyn.

A graveside funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Smyrna United Methodist Church, Farmville.
