DILLWYN, Oct. 30 – James (Jim) Thomas Blake, 70, of Dillwyn, passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 2008 in Charlottesville. He was born in Culpeper on May 7, 1938 to Jim and Mary Catlett Blake. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Arthur Blake, and sister, Helen Blake.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Joyce (Ann) Payne Blake; daughter, Melissa B. Palmore and son-in-law, Tim Palmore, and a beloved granddaughter, Brittani Lynne Palmore all of Dillwyn; sisters, Mary B. Yeatts (Talmadge) of Rice, Marion B. Lane (Carl) of Fuquay-Virina, NC, and Peggy B. Moore (Tommy) of Gladstone.

The family will receive friends Thursday (today) from 7 to 9 p.m. at Dunkum Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home with interment in Enon Baptist Church Cemetery.
