J.D. Waycaster, 84 Of Dillwyn Dies April 21

DILLWYN, April 23 – Jonas Dee (J.D.) Waycaster, 84, of Dillwyn, died Tuesday, April 21, 2009 in a Charlottesville hospital. He was born October 11, 1924 in Wears Valley, Tenn., the son of the late Robert A. Waycaster and Belle Adams Waycaster.

He was preceded in death by a son, Tommy Waycaster; two sisters, Faye Ownby and Mae Midkiff; brother, John Millard Waycaster; and a great-grandson, Taylor Wood.

He is survived by a daughter, Shirley Stow of Dillwyn; three brothers, A.G. Waycaster, Billy Waycaster and Ted Waycaster all of Dillwyn; five grandchildren, Rene Marion, T.J. Waycaster, Robbie Wood, Randy Rhymer and Waylon Rhymer, and 10 great-grandchildren.

Graveside funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Jones Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery, Cumberland.

The family will receive friends Thursday (today) from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Dunkum Funeral Home.
