BUCKINGHAM, Sept. 15 – Herman Ray Gormus, 67, of Buckingham, died Thursday, September 10, 2009. He was the son of the late Rosen Herman and Georgia Lee Gormus and was preceded in death by a grandson, Herman Benjamin (H.B.) O'Bryant.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Whorley Gormus; daughter, Katherine Gormus; two sons, Daniel Ray and wife, Pam Gormus and Donald Anthony and wife, Melanie Gormus all of Buckingham; two sisters, Macy and husband, John Edimarie of Tampa, FL and Linda and husband, David Edwards of Ashland; three brothers, Freddie and wife, Patty Gormus of Charlotte Court House, Vernon and wife, Joanne Gormus of New Canton, and Ralph Gormus of Lynchburg; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Sunday at the Dunkum Funeral Home, with interment in Buckingham Community Cemetery.
