LYNCHBURG, Sept. 15 – Grace Jamerson Neely, 100, of Lynchburg, died Friday, September 11, 2009, in Westminster Canterbury. She was the wife of the late Robert Russell Neely.
Born in Pamplin, October 11, 1908, she was a daughter of the late Bryant Thomas and Nannie Garrett Jamerson. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Lynchburg, the Danville Wednesday Club, Co-Founder of the Bookshelf Book Club, and was active in many civic and church organizations in Danville. For 32 years she worked in the Administration Office at Stratford College in Danville.
She is survived by a sister, Frances Raine of Lynchburg, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, and many loving friends.
Funeral services were held Sunday at Pamplin United Methodist Church by the Rev. Robert Green. Interment followed at Pamplin Community Cemetery.
