Glen Vought, Jr., 77

HARRISONBURG, Dec. 30 – Glen Grove Vought Jr., 77, of Sunnyside Retirement Community in Harrisonburg, died Wednesday, December 24, 2008.

Mr. Vought was born on March 26, 1931 in Nassawaddox, the son of the late Glen Grove Vought Sr. and Hatcher Lee Drumeller Vought and was reared in Nyack, NY.

He attended Hampden-Sydney College, graduated from Longwood University and the University of Virginia. He taught Science in the public schools of Danville and was a member of the counseling faculty of Old Dominion University and Christopher Newport University. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Harrisonburg.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Rickman Vought; daughter, Edith Vought Brewer and spouse, Brian of West Chester, PA; three sons, Hall Bradley Vought and spouse, Joanne of Centreville, John Christian Vought and spouse, Michelle of Tallahassee, FL, and Andrew Young Vought of Nor-folk; six grandchildren, Erika, Kelly, and Luke Brewer, Annabelle and Autumn Vought, and Donald Christian Vought.

Chaplain Paul O'Gorek and Pastor Brian Brewer will conduct a memorial service 4 p.m. Sunday, December 28, in Meredith Chapel at Sunnyside. Lindsey Funeral Home is in charge of cremation.
