CUMBERLAND, Sept. 14 -Georgia Barr Sloan, 79, of Caira, Cumberland, widow of Robert Lee Sloan, died Tuesday, September 14, 2004 at Holly Manor Nursing Home, Farmville.

She was born April 18, 1925 in Cumberland.

She is survived by a son, Michael Lee Sloan of Cumberland; two daughters, Linda Justice of Cumberland and Teresa Adcock of Clarksville; two sisters, Mae East of Farmville and Jane Chapman of Cumberland County; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday in Salem Methodist Church Cemetery, Buckingham.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Shorter Funeral Home, Farmville.
