Gaetano Renga, 89 WWII Tank Operator, Dies February 23

CHARLOTTE CH, Feb. 25 – Gaetano Thomas Renga, 89 of Charlotte Court House, passed away Tuesday evening, February 23, 2010 at his residence. He was born May 28, 1920 in Newark, New Jersey. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII as a tank operator.

He married Antoinette M. Patanella over 57 years ago and moved from Bricktown, N.J. 19 years ago.

He is survived by his wife, his daughter, Elizabeth Ann Travis and husband, Bill of Charlotte Court House; grandsons, Thomas J. Travis and wife, Allison of Farmville and Christopher A. Travis and wife, Crystal of Charlotte Court House; great grand-children, Hunter G. Travis, Skkyler Travis and Elexis Travis of Farmville and Madison Travis of Charlotte Court House.

A graveside service will be held Friday, Feb. 26, at 11 a.m. at Westview Cemetery.

Family will receive friends Thursday evening 6-8 p.m. at Calvary Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church in Farmville.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Hills, 713 Oak Street, Farmville, VA 23901.

Puckett Funeral Home, Farmville, is in charge of arrangements.
