RICE, Dec. 15 – Mary Layne Archer, 68, of Rice, passed away Friday, December 11, 2009 in Farmville.

She is survived by her husband, Clifton “Red” Archer Sr.; son, Clifton Archer Jr. of Victoria; sisters, Phyllis L. Jones and husband, Larry of Virginia Beach, Elsie L. Martin of Richmond; and numerous other family members and friends.

Funeral services were conducted Monday at Liberty Christian Church in Green Bay, with interment in the church cemetery.

The Shorter Funeral Home, Farmville, served the family.
