Funeral Service For James “Jim” Collins, 81 To Be Held Wednesday

FEBRUARY 2 – James E. “Jim” Collins, 81, of Farmville, passed away Saturday, January 30, 2010 at his residence. He was born in Wise County to the late Andrew and Rosa Burke Collins. He served his country in the United States Army at the end of WWII.

Mr. Collins was the husband of Donna Hall Collins. He retired in 1991 after 34 years of service to the Virginia Department of Corrections.

He is survived by his wife, his son, Andrew Kent Collins of Fredericksburg; brothers, Clarence Collins of Wise, and William Collins of Dayton, Ohio and sisters, Evelyn Craiger and Jean Copeland both of Dayton, Ohio.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, Feb. 3, at 2 p.m. at the Highland Funeral Home in Bland. Family will receive friends Wednesday 1-2 p.m. at the funeral home in Bland.
