JANUARY 14 – Franklin Coates Woodson, 83, of Farmville, passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2010. He was born in 1926 in McKenney, the son of the late Frank Woodson Jr. and Ellen Rives Woodson.

He was retired from Ryder Truck Lines where he was a heavy truck maintenance manager.

Mr. Woodson is survived by a daughter, Carol W. Chandler of Farmville; a son, Donald F. Woodson and wife, Teresa of Red Oak, TX; three grandchildren, Courtney Warren and husband, Danny of Victoria; Andrew J. Chandler III and Amanda Chandler, both of Farmville; a step-grandson, Micah Woodson of Red Oak, TX; step-great-grandson, Michael Warren of Victoria; and a great-grandson, Matthew Warren of Victoria.

Funeral service will be held at Johns Memorial Episcopal Church at 11 a.m. on Saturday. Interment will be in Holly Memorial Gardens in Charlottesville at 3:30 p.m.

The family will receive friends at Doyne-Burger-Davis Funeral Home on Friday from 5-7 p.m.
