BUCKINGHAM, May 5 – Eugene Vance Horne, 71, of Buckingham, died Saturday, May 2, 2009 at his residence.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Trentham Horne; son, Ray Vance Horne and wife, Jean; brothers, Thomas Horne and wife, Martha of Saluda, and Charles Horne and wife, Della of Buckingham; sisters, Ruby Bryant and husband, William, Louise Amos, Thelma Bennett and husband, Randall all of Buckingham, and Dorothy Holloway of Richmond; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene Frank and Mary Whorley Horne.

Interment will be private.

The Shorter Funeral Home, Farmville, is serving the family.
