OCTOBER 14 – Estelle Basnight Marks, 88, of Farmville, died Monday, October 13, 2008. She was born December 31, 1919 in Princess Anne County, the daughter of the late James Allen Basnight Sr. and Maggie Smith Basnight. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Clyde Marks, and a son, James C. Marks.

She is survived by a daughter, Julia M. Tipton of Farmville; sister, Violet B. Smith of Dillwyn; and two grandchildren, Fred Tipton Jr. and Carolyn Tipton both of Farmville.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Smyrna United Methodist Church with interment in the church cemetery.

Dunkum Funeral Home, Dillwyn, is in charge of arrangements.
