AUGUST 12 – Elsie D. Chapman, 81, of Farmvllle, died Tuesday, August 10, 2004.

She was born June 11, 1923 In Cumberland County, a daughter of the late Lewis A. and Lucille Singleton Daulton. She was the widow of Paul Chapman.

She is survived by her sons, Paul J. Chapman, Jr. of Richmond and Horace L. Chapman of Statesville, NC; her daughters, Daisy C. Cibula of Jacksonville, FL and Mary C. Southall of Goochland; her brother, Melvin L. Daulton of Nashville, TN; her sisters, Louise Yeatts of Richmond, Jodie Bennett of Charlotte Court House and Stella Pinkham of Chesapeake; her sister-in-law, Annie Harkleroad of Hampden-Sydney; 11 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister, Helen Stewart and her bother, Calvin Lewis Daulton.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at Worsham Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Shorter Funeral Home, Farmvllle.
