RICE, Oct. 7 – Dorothy Wingo Borum, 88, of Rice, died Sun-day, October 5, 2008. She was preceded in death by her husband, James M. “Buster” Borum and a daughter, Elizabeth Raye Englebright.

She was born in Jetersville, the daughter of the late George Holland Wingo and Mattie Carter Wingo on May 16, 1920.

She is survived by her two sons, Robert M. Borum and wife, Frances of Amelia, and James F. Borum and wife, Elsie of Rice; daughter, Donna L. Thackston and husband, Marshall of Darlington Heights; four grandchildren, Gregg Borum, Brett Borum and wife, Dana, George Borum and wife, Karen, and Sherry Midkiff and husband, Scott; great-grandchild, Christin Pearl Midkiff; son-in-law, Ed Englebright; and three step-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening (today) from 7-9 p.m. at Doyne-Burger-Davis Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be conducted on Wednesday at 2 p.m. from Sandy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Amelia.
