DECEMBER 1 – Dorine (Nannie) Elizabeth Beers, 88, formerly of Waverly, daughter of William H. Overby and Flossie M. Stevens passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at home with her family by her side after her battle with cancer.

She is survived by her devoted and loving daughters and sons-in-laws, Jean Wright and husband, James of Farmville, Helen Gardner and husband, Richard of Lenoir, NC, Peggy Smith and husband, Russell of Roanoke and Audrey Cooper and husband, George of Coleman, MI; eight grandchildren and their families, and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 12 p.m. with visitation to begin at 11 a.m. at Jones Chapel Baptist Church, 947 Trents Mill Road, Cumberland, VA with graveside services to follow.
