RICHMOND, August 19 – Curtis Lee Dedmond, 49, of Richmond, died Wednesday, August 13, 2008. He was a Corrections Officer for the Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Corrections with 30 years of service.

He is survived by his daughter, Grace Dedmond of Richmond; his parents, Curtis C. and Wanda Dedmond of Farmville; brothers, Jimmy Dedmond of Farmville and Johnny Dedmond of Dillwyn; a sister, Sharon Steinke of Farmville; nieces and nephews, Laura Dedmond, Jimmy Lee Dedmond, Jessica Steinke and Jenniffer Steinke all of Farmville; great-nephew, Tristan Dedmond of Farmville; and numerous cousins.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday, August 17, at Concord Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Concord Baptist Church, PO Box 37, Prospect, VA 23960.
