Charles L. Kidd, 82 Appomattox County Native, Dies Feb. 20

HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, NJ, March 2 – Charles L. Kidd, 82, died Friday, February 20, 2004 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton.

Born in Appomattox County on July 15, 1921, he had resided in the area for more than 60 years. He was a retired employee of the State of New Jersey.

Mr. Kidd was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and served in Okinawa. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He was the son of the late William Jurdon and Annie Ballowe Kidd and brother of the late William R. Kidd and Edith Kidd Truslow.

He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Matera Kidd; six sisters, Virginia Kidd Hicks, Annie Mae Kidd Jones, Emma Sue Kidd Boutchyard, Louise Kitty Cox and Ruth Kidd Gamer all of Fredericksburg and Mary Kidd Senger of Farmvllle and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 25 at the Mullen Funeral Home, Trenton, NJ. Burial was in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Hamilton Township.
