ALEXANDRIA, May 13 – Charles Edgar Fox, 79, of Alexandria, died Monday, May 12, 2008 at his home. He was the husband of Evelyn Bailey Fox.

Born October 19, 1928 in Monroe, Louisiana, Mr. Fox was the son of the late Charles Emmett and Edna Lucille Higgins Fox.

He was a retired Captain with United Airlines.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Charles Ed-gar Fox Jr. and wife, Tina of Catlett; a daughter, Patricia Evelyn Bryan and husband, Keith of Manassas; sister, Cecelia Patterson of Venice, FL; seven grandchildren, Charles E. Fox III, Justin R. Fox and wife, Sarah, Jennifer C. Rowe and husband, Rob, Trevor G. Bryan and wife, Sharon, Tracy L. Martin, Heidi Ferguson and Heather Ferguson; and six great-grandchildren, Allison, Lindsay, Michael, Anthony, Bradley and Teague.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 14, in the Chapel of Shorter Funeral Home with interment following in Spring Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Darlington Heights.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 10 a.m., Wednesday, and a reception will be held at the Darlington Heights Volunteer Fire Department following the burial.
