DILLWYN, March 2 – Martha Davenport Pollock died Thursday, February 25, 2010 in Dillwyn. Born September 13, 1930 to Llewellyn and Lillian Davenport in Columbia, NC, “Marty” was preceded in death by her husband, James Pollock, her sister, Eva Mae Grimsley, and brothers, Steve, Bill, and Julian Davenport.

She is survived by three children, Tim Page of Dillwyn, Karin Cunningham of Milwaukee, WI, and Shari Laughlin of El Cajon, CA; sisters, Julie Adcock of Flat Rock, NC, and Ruth Brewer of Victoria, TX; and brothers, Ray Davenport of Tiger, GA, Frank Davenport of Chesapeake, L.H. Davenport of Lincoln, NE, Howard Davenport of Buckingham, and Wayne Davenport and the Rev. James Davenport of Dillwyn; as well as eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Marty's life will be held Monday, March 8, at 6:30 p.m. at Brown's Chapel United Methodist Church, Dillwyn.
