OCTOBER 21 – Carrie Sharpe Allen Chidester died Monday, October 20, 2008 at the age of 86. She was preceded in death by husbands, Charlie Allen and Clyde Chidester, and three children, Dorothy Marie Allen, Ronald Lee Allen and Shirley Allen Toney.

She is survived by her son, Charles (Chuck) Allen and wife, Pat of Dillwyn; a sister, Virginia Sharpe Thomas of Hampton; six grandchildren, Mike and Curtis Toney, Marty and Brad Allen, Brandon and Ronnie Allen Jr., and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was a member of Cedar Baptist Church where services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. with interment in the church cemetery.

Family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Cedar Baptist Church Building Fund.

Dunkum Funeral Home, Dillwyn, is in charge of arrangements.
