TENNESSEE, Nov. 24 – Carl R. Newman, 79, of Jefferson City, TN, formerly of Amelia, born and raised in Dandridge, TN, passed away Monday, November 23, 2009. He was an employee of J.H. Martin Construction Company for 43 years and attended Mullins Chapel Church.

He was preceded in death by parents, Charles and Andrea Newman; wife, Louise Shaffer Newman; grandson, Joseph; sisters, Joyce Walker, Myrtle Mae Wise, and Juanita Loveday; and brother, Joe Newman.

Survivors include daughter, Katherine (Michael) Tatum; grandchildren, Daniel, Jennifer, Andrew and Philip; great-grandchildren, Logan, Jaden and Aubree; sisters, Roberta Dalton and Rowena Lowe; brothers, Roy, Charlie, Nelson, George and James Newman.

Graveside funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, at Swanns Chapel Cemetery with the Rev. Eddie Hitten officiating.
