NEW CANTON, Oct. 13 – Berkley LeRoy Jones, 75, of New Canton died Monday, October 12, 2009 in Richmond. Born September 25, 1934 in Buckingham County he was a son of the late Roy Berkley and Mary Harding Jones.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Kathleen B. Jones; daughter, Sharon Jones White and husband, Butch of Dillwyn; four sons, Calvin B. Jones and wife, Bobbie Jo, Lin Jones and wife, Brenda, Troy Jones and wife, Lisa and Tracy Jones and wife, Ann Marie, all of New Canton; a sister, three brothers, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Mr. Jones was the retired owner of New Canton Concrete Company which he operated for over 36 years. He was a building contractor, farmer and avid turkey hunter. He was also a member of Stonewall Lodge AF&M # 200 of New Canton.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Arvon Baptist Church, Rt. 15, Arvonia.

A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday at the Arvonia Baptist Church with interment in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, New Canton.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery Trust Fund, P.O. Box 11 New Canton, VA 23123, or the Hospice of Virginia, 7231 Forest Ave. Suite 100, Richmond, VA 23226.
