JANUARY 13 – Anna Louise Allen, 88, of Farmville, passed away Sunday, Jan. 11, 2009. She worked for many years at Watkins and Brock Law offices in Farmville, and retired as a secretary to the Dean of Students at Hampden-Sydney College.

She is survived by many cousins and their families and a beloved aunt, Helen C. Allen of Maryland; and her close friend, Ida Kirstein of Farmville.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Wednesday, in the Chapel of Shorter Funeral Home, with interment to follow in the Douglas Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

The Shorter Funeral Home, Farmville, is serving the family.
