CHARLOTTE C.H., Oct. 6 – Alyne Irby Ramsey, 80, of Charlotte Court House, died Thursday, October 1, 2009 in Virginia Baptist Hospital. She was the wife of the late Raymond Howard Ramsey Sr.

Born in Lynchburg, February 18, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Richard Irby and Mary Tolbert Irby. She was a member of Concord Baptist Church.

She is survived by three sons, Raymond Howard Ramsey Jr. of Charlotte C.H., Gary Thomas Ramsey and wife, Susie of Appomattox, and Michael Anthony Ramsey of Evergreen; a sister, Katie Ramsey of Appomattox; grandson, Raymond Howard Ramsey, III; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services were held Sunday at Concord Baptist Church by the Rev. Tony Reeves and the Rev. Donnie Smith. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
