Rites Wednesday For Elsie M. Hackney, 62 Of Farmville

APRIL 27 – Elsie Mae Hackney, 62, of Farmville, passed away Saturday, April 24, 2010 in Richmond. She was born January 16, 1948 in Virginia, the daughter of Lula Webber Lewis and the late John Thomas Hackney.
She is survived by her sons, Irving Holman and wife, Catherine, Jesse and John Holman and Frank Holman and wife, Bernadette all of Farmville; daughters, Mary Mullins and husband, Paul of Texas, Sandra Landis and husband, Glenn, Verna Holman, Patty Morton and husband, Rocky all of Farmville; brothers, John Hackney of Farmville, Charlie Hackney and wife, Debbie of Hixsburg, David Hackney and wife, Donna of Dillwyn and Ronnie Hackney and wife, Cheryl of Rice; sisters, Lula Carter of Lynchburg, Peggy Lewis and husband, Jimmy of Farmville and Lucille Tinch and husband, Jerry of North Carolina; step-brothers, James Russell of Florida and Luther Russell of Dinwiddie and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, James Holman.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, April 28, at 3 p.m. at Appomattox P.E. Church Cemetery at Tuggle.
Family will receive friends Tuesday evening (tonight) from 6-8 p.m. at the Puckett Funeral Home.
