Jack C. Wilson, 82 Owner Wilson Electric Company, Dies

DECEMBER 30 – Jack Carrington Wilson, 82, of Farmville, died Friday, December 26, 2003.

He was born May 29, 1921 In Cumberland County, a son of the late Julia Holman Wilson and William Archer Wilson.

Mr. Wilson served in the United States Navy during World War II and was the owner and operator of Wilson Electric Company in Farmville for 48 years. He was an avid hunter and a founding member of the Square Hunt Club.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Oliver Wilson and a sister. Nancy E. Wilson of Richmond. He is also survived by one son. Tony R. Mitchell and his wife, Joyce; four daughters, Karen Story and her husband, Rob, Judy Layne and her husband, David, Jackie Spears and her husband, Raymond, Amy Beatson and her husband, Guerry; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at Cumberland Presbyterian Church on Sunday, December 28 at 2 p.m. with Interment in the church cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Prince Edward County Rescue Squad or Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Shorter Funeral Home, Farmville, was in charge of arrangements.
