Harriet G. Harris, 94 Mother of Farmville Resident, Dies

FISHERSVILLE, Dec. 25, Harriet Gibson Harris, a longtime resident of Fishersville, died Tuesday, December 23, 2003 at the home of her daughter, Bette L. Harris, in Farmville.
She was born December 6, 1909 in Augusta County, eldest daughter of the late Charles Lewis and Mattie Margaret (Linhoss) Gibson.
Survivors include a son, Edgar Lee Harris, Jr., of Fishersville; four daughters, Mrs. Ann C. Nelson of Waynesboro, Mrs. Judith H. Quick of Las Vegas, Nevada, Dr. Bette L. Harris of Farmville, and Ms. Sherry L, Spaulding of Greensboro, NC; two brothers, Merlin C. Gibson of Camp Hill, PA, and Vernon F. Gibson of Harrisburg, PA; six grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. Her husband, Edgar Lee Harris, Sr., and two daughters, Helene H. Spaulding and Dorothy V. Harris, preceded her in death.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m. Friday, December 26, at the Henry Funeral Home, and a Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 27, In the Barren Ridge Church of the Brethren, where she was a longtime member. The Rev. Eugene Lenker will officiate.
