ARVONIA, Nov. 13 – Elizabeth Pankey Bland, 90, of Arvonia, died Saturday, November 8, 2003 at her home.

She was born July 21, 1913 In Buckingham County, the daughter of the late William A. Pankey and Mary Miller Pankey. She was the widow of William Richard Bland.

She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Shirley A. Bland of Fredericksburg; a sister, Evelyn Pankey McCorkle of Lexington; a brother, Thomas Maury Pankey of Roanoke; three stepchildren, Edward Cole Bland of Texas, John Cook Bland of Pennsylvania and Jeremy Bland of California and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert L. Bland.

Graveside services were held 2 p.m. Tuesday in Arvonia Memorial Cemetery.

Dunkum Funeral Home, Dillwyn, was In charge of arrangements.
