OCTOBER 28 – Birdie M. Osborne, 80, formerly of Prince Edward County, died Friday, October 24, 2003 in Petersburg.

She was born July 3, 1923 in Prince Edward County, a daughter of the late Daniel Jackson and Bessie Jenkins Neathery. She was the widow of Willie Berkley Osborne.

She is survived by her sons, George, Johnnie, Charlie, Earl, Mack and Billy Osborne; a daughter, Grace Long; sisters, Mary Cliborne, Mable Moorefield and Anne Mae Simpson; brothers, Daniel and Charles Neathery; 17 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

A graveside service was held 11 a.m. today (Tuesday) in Sunset Hill Cemetery, Burkeville.

Shorter Funeral Home, Farmville, was in charge of arrangements.
