Grace J. Jefferson Farmville Resident Dies March 27

MARCH 30 – Grace Jackson Jefferson died Saturday, March 27, 2010. Born June 19, 1933 in Wylliesburg, she was a resident for 51 years of Farmville.
A graduate of Averett College, she was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She volunteered many hours of service to her community through the Farmville United Methodist Church, The Wood-lands, Inc., garden clubs, and other organizations. She was well known in the area for her floral arrangements and landscape design.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Brantley M. Jefferson; a daughter and son-in-law, Anne Bennett Jefferson and Michael Wayne Nicholson of Oakland, CA; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert Brantley and Kathryn Burton Jefferson; and grandchildren, Kaelyn Grace, Emily Nicole, and Aubrey Brantley Jefferson of Farmville. She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel Claude and Grace Robertson Jackson; four brothers, Paul, Robert, Judd, and D.C. Jr., and sister, Ann Owen.
A private graveside burial at Westview Cemetery will be followed at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 30, by a public memorial service at Farmville United Methodist Church, 212 High Street, Farmville.
