Funeral Service For Eugene L. Newman, 66 Held Sunday

NOVEMBER 25 – Eugene “Jeepie” Livingston Newman, 66, of Kenbridge, formerly of Meherrin, died Wednesday, November 19, 2003.
He was born July 11, 1937, a son of the late James T. and Alma Jones Newman.
Mr. Newman was a charter member of the Meherrin Volunteer Fire Department, a member of VFW Post No. 7819 of Crewe, the American Legion of Kenbridge and a member of Ebenezer Presbyterian Church in Kenbridge.
He is survived by a daughter, Ingrid N. Fogg and son-in-law, Neal; three granddaughters, Amber and Jodi Lee and Courtney Marker all of Kenbridge; four sisters. Jewel N. Dix, Betty N. Mull and Lois E Newman all of Meherrin and Mary N. Elder of Cartersville; his wife, Peggy T. Newman of Burkeville and a host of other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by two brothers, James E. Newman and Curtis L. Newman.
Funeral service were held Sunday at Ebenezer Presbyterian Church, Kenbridge, with interment in Meherrin Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Meherrin Volunteer Fire Department, Ebenezer Presbyterian Church, VFW Post No. 7819, Crewe, or the American Legion, Kenbridge.
Browning Funeral Home, Keysville, was in charge of arrangements.
