Evelyn W. Hancock, 85 Of Richmond Dies Tuesday

RICHMOND, Dec. 18 – Evelyn Walker Hancock, 85, of Richmond, died Tuesday, December 16, 2003.
She was born in Charlotte County, a daughter of the late David Martin and Florence Trent Hancock.
She was a graduate of VPI and SU with a degree in Home Economics. After many years of foreign service with the US Department of State In Germany, Korea, Japan and South America, she retired In 1985. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.
She Is survived by three sisters, Avalyn H. Bittle, Lenna M. McIver of Richmond and Annie H. McFarland of New Madison, Ohio; 15 nieces and nephews and 25 great-nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 4103 Monument Ave., Richmond. Interment will follow In Hollywood Cemetery.
The family will receive friends this evening (Thursday) from 6 to 8 p.m. at Shorter Funeral Home, Farmville.
