MAY 11 – Blanche Baker Bates, 91, of Trinity Mission Nursing Home, Farmville, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 7, 2010. She was born March 1, 1919 in Walton, NY. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Bates Jr.

She is survived by five children, Emily, Beth, Adelbert, Dianna and Frances; brother, Adelbert and Kitty Baker and their daughter, Sandy Duke; 20 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and ten great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Bates was a homemaker and caregiver.

Funeral service will be private at a later date.
