Carol Ruth Cooper SchallCarol Ruth Cooper Schall, 84 of Spring Arbor Assisted Living, Winchester, died May 18, in Front Royal. Carol was born on Dec. 21, 1938 in Buffalo, New York. She was the daughter of Kenneth and Ruth Cooper, a graduate of Riverside High and Bryant and Stratton Business College. She worked as a dental assistant and secretary at Pratt & Lambert Paint Co before marrying William E. Schall on Aug. 23, 1958 in Dearborn Baptist Church, Riverside, New York. 

Carol was a busy mother of four children, a Teacher Aide in the Fredonia Central Schools from 1972-1976 and a Reading Tutor in the NY State Migrant Program from 1976 to 1990. She was president of the SUNY Fredonia Faculty Dames, editor of the Faculty Dames Cookbook, member of the Fredonia First United Methodist Church and Eastern Star. Upon moving to Farmville, in 1990, Carol was a member of the Farmville United Methodist Church, President of the Farmville Women’s Club and member of the Prince Edward County Red Hatters.

Carol is survived by her husband, Dr. William E. Schall; four children, Dr. Susan Schall (Gary Morrison) of Front Royal, Dr. Gregory Schall of Cecilia, Kentucky, Kenneth Schall (Cheryl) of Plymouth, Michigan and Christopher Schall (Sally) of Winchester; four grandchildren, Garrett, Emma, Jack and Jonathan; sister-in-law, Betty Cooper of Eustis, Florida; nieces and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Kenneth Cooper and daughter-in-law, Natalie (Thompson) Schall.

A memorial service will be held at Spring Arbor Assisted Living June 4, at 2:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Braddock Street UMC, 115 Wolfe Street, Winchester, VA 22601-2311, Farmville UMC, P.O.
