O’Brien named ODAC Player of the Week

Hampden-Sydney College Sophomore Attackman Ray O’Brien from Scituate, Massachusetts has been named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Men’s Lacrosse Player of the Week for the period March 21-27.
O’Brien scored a combined eight goals, dished out three assists and picked up five ground balls for a total of eleven points in the Tigers’ two wins this past week. In their 17-9 victory over the University of Mary Washington, he recorded a team high five goals on nine shots, to go along with his two assists. In the first quarter, O’Brien scored three straight times to help his team jump out to a quick lead. Against Bridgewater, he found the back of the net three times, in the second half, to help Hampden-Sydney pull away from the Eagles, 10-6. The win was the first ODAC win of the season for the Tigers and their sixth overall.
H-SC will host Roanoke College (5-4) on Saturday afternoon, April 2, at 1 p.m. on Fulton Field at Lewis C. Everett Stadium.
