January 10

Buckingham County Public Schools will be on a two hour delay Monday, Jan. 10, for all students and staff.  According to Buckingham County Public Schools (BCPS) Coordinator of Technology/ITRT Melissa Hanes the delay is, “due to freezing temperatures in the morning and the possibility of ice on the roads.”

Buckingham County Public Schools will be closed  for students and staff.

Cumberland County Public Schools will be closed.

Prince Edward County Public Schools will be closed. According to a the Facebook page the basketball games with Nottoway and the swim meet at Hampden Sydney scheduled for Friday have been postponed.

January 6

Piedmont Senior Resources (PSR) Due to the impending snow event on Thursday evening, and due to the snow event on Monday, Piedmont Senior Resources will observe the following deliveries on Thursday and Friday of this week:

Hot meals and Home Delivered Meals in Buckingham will be delivered.

Cumberland hot meals and home delivered meals will be delivered.

Amelia home delivered meals will be delivered.

There will be no frozen home delivered meals delivered on Friday as those for Amelia and Cumberland will be delivered on Thursday.

 

Cumberland County Public Schools will be closed to students on Thursday, Jan. 6.  A Facebook post noted the closure is due to continued power outages, downed trees blocking roadways, and road conditions in certain areas. School offices will open at 9:00 am. The school board business meeting will be held without student or staff recognitions.

Prince Edward County Public Schools are closed Thursday, Jan. 6 for students. Staff is on a one hour delay.

According to Buckingham County Public Schools (BCPS) Coordinator of Technology/ITRT Melissa Hanes BCPS will also be closed tomorrow, Thursday, Jan. 6 for students and staff.

 

January 5

Cumberland and Prince Edward county schools will be closed Wednesday, Jan. 5.

Buckingham County Superintendent John Keeler stated in an email to The Farmville Herald that schools are closed to both students and staff.

Cumberland County Schools announced on their Facebook page 12 month staff members are to report at 10:30 a.m. Schools will reopen for students on Thursday, Jan. 6. Report cards will go home on Monday, Jan. 10.

The Town of Farmville announced in a release that the Work Session scheduled for today has been canceled and the Personnel Committee meeting has been rescheduled to 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, Jan.12.
