Thomas Ray Witt, 69, passed peacefully Monday, June 1st, 2020 at his residence with family by his side. He was born March 18,1951 to the late Leonard P. and Lena I. Witt. He married Cheryl Mcmillian and together they raised 2 children, 3 grandchildren and various other family members. He enjoyed traveling to the beach, mountains, lake, and golf course being his favorite destinations. Tommy was a respected and warmly welcomed member of the community by being a lifetime member of the Farmville Fire Department, part-time police officer, and full time patron of anyone in need. He retired from Longwood University after 32 years of being Supervisor of the HVAC shop.

Tommy is survived by his daughter Christy W. Orange (Bill), son Thomas R. Witt Jr. (Samara), grandchildren Austin Orange, Brandon Orange, Mason Witt, and soon to be Rayleigh Witt. Brother Leonard ‘Butch’ Witt (Judy), and sisters Jane Witt and Louise Witt. Special friends Brenda, Kevin, Chris, and Brayden Nagy. Tommy was a great father, grandfather, brother, uncle, mentor, and friend. He will be missed by all and forever live on in our hearts.
