Dillwyn man dies in Route 60 crash

A Dillwyn man has died as a result of a collision that occurred in Nelson County Tuesday afternoon, May 19.
According to a release from Virginia State Police (VSP) Public Relations Director Corinne Geller, the accident happened at approximately 12:49 p.m. on Route 60, less than a mile east of Allens Creek Road.
A 1997 Chevrolet S10 driven by David A.H. Jordan, 41, of Dillwyn, was traveling west on Route 60 when it crossed the centerline and struck head-on an eastbound 2007 GMC Sierra.
Jordan died on scene. He was not wearing a seat belt.
The driver of the GMC, Alan E. Deane, 58, of Gladstone, was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Deane was wearing his seat belt.
The crash remains under investigation by VSP Trooper J.R. Harris.
