In making the announcement, Benchmark President/CEO Jay Stafford said of Williams, “We are thrilled to have Ronnie Williams join the board at Benchmark. He is a Lunenburg County native born the same year our bank was founded. Ronnie is a true people person who rarely meets a stranger. Being a lifelong resident and longtime business owner, Ronnie’s deep-seated understanding of our clientele and how Benchmark can best support the community is a valuable asset.”

Williams is excited about joining the Benchmark Board of Directors and the future influence his business and personal philosophies may bring to the organization. “Benchmark has been a great support for me from a young age with my personal financial needs, as well as, the needs of my company. I believe it is Benchmark’s personal and caring attitude that sets it apart from other financial institutions.

“People want a bank that is sincerely interested in them and the events that touch their lives,” he continued. “They want someone who will trust them and someone they can also trust to lead them on a good path with their finances. This personal touch and caring attitude have helped the bank continue to grow, serving many more people in the Southside Virginia communities and our newer markets in northern North Carolina.”

With the addition of Williams, the Benchmark Bankshares, Inc. Board of Directors numbers 11 members representing the bank’s geographic service footprint.

Founded in 1971, Benchmark Community Bank is a $700 million locally owned and operated full-service bank headquartered in Kenbridge. It is the company’s sole subsidiary with a total of 16 banking offices located throughout central Southside Virginia and northern North Carolina.
