I will continue to protect our Second Amendment rights

We’ve completed the fourth week of the 2020 Session, and I’d like to take a moment to share with you the latest news from Richmond.

The Second Amendment has continued to be a major topic of discussion as Democrats rammed several gun control bills through the House of Delegates with barely an hour of debate on the floor. During that hour, members pushing for gun control repeatedly gave incorrect information about current gun laws and even about their own bills, demonstrating how little they truly understand about the legislation they intend to pass.

On Tuesday, we saw Democrats unable to answer basic questions (or simply give bad information) about their firearms legislation — bills they ran on in 2019.

I want to make it clear that I am in no way compromising my morals or beliefs to work with the other side of the aisle on this legislation. Gun rights are so important to the people in my district and people all over Virginia. I have established a relationship with the Coalition to End Gun Violence and the Secretary of Public Safety to give us, responsible, law-abiding gun owners a seat at the table to help combat gun violence.
