Frances Leftwich Scruggs, 99, of Gladstone, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2020 to be with her Lord. She was born on May 21, 1920, to parents Alexander and Vanilla Mae Tracy Leftwich of Narrows, Virginia. She and her loving husband of 55 years, the late Edward Luther Scruggs, were blessed with two children, Willie Alexander Scruggs (Patricia, deceased) and Barbara Jane Bolenske (Donald, deceased). Frances is also survived by her sister and best friend, Beatrice Scruggs; her grandchildren, Donald Bolenske, Michael Bolenske (Louise), Tammi Nuckols and Stan Scruggs (Brandy); nine great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

Frances was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother. She was a devout Christian and a devoted member of Antioch Union Baptist Church in Wingina, Virginia.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on February 5, 2020 at Antioch Union Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery.
