Bible Bee winners announced
CVCS held its 16th annual Bible Bees Thursday, January 23.
Representatives from each class competed for the title of Elementary and Middle School Bible Bee Champion.
Women in Agriculture Gathering pre-conference on Farm Transition Workshop will be held on Thursday, Feb. 20. The conference will be held Friday, Feb. 21, held at the Goochland Agricultural Center (2748 Dogtown Rd., Goochland). Register at http://tinyurl.com/vawomeninag2020.
The United Baptist Women’s Missionary and Educational Convention is having its 12th Annual Black History Banquet Saturday, Feb. 22 at 3 p.m. at The Frances Redwood Center, New Canton, with the theme of “Honoring Outstanding Community Leaders.”
Honorees include Deacon Wilbert Dean, Deacon Joe Scruggs, Mrs. Donna McRae Jones and Mr. James Jones.
Wear African American attire or red, black, green or gold. Each church is asked to donate two to three cakes or pies. Each church is to have one youth serve as a host or hostess (will not need a ticket). The name of the youth should be given to Sister Joyce Booker or Sister Vera Merritt as soon as possible.

Buckingham County High School is having a CTE/Elective open house Wednesday, Feb. 12 from 6-7:30 p.m. in the high school auditorium.
This event will include a tour of the classrooms, labs, and shops. Students can learn about electives, clubs, and career opportunities. Get information about scheduling, honors and associates programs, and helping students succeed in high school. Parents and eigth-grade students are welcome. This event is geared towards rising ninth-graders and their parents so they can learn more about the class options at the high school.
